Taylor’s Tribe – Play it Forward is a community lacrosse event that celebrates the life of Taylor Cunningham and his love of lacrosse. Taylor was a senior at Hereford High School and a goalie for the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team when he was killed in an automobile accident in 2006.  Players on the HHS team still wear the green TC sticker in his memory.  His younger brother, Conor, wore Taylor’s jersey number throughout his high school career and at the end of the 2014 season, the team retired #25 to the Cunningham family.

The Taylor Cunningham Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 in Taylor’s memory and has since awarded tens of thousands of dollars to eligible student athletes from Hereford High School.  In the spring of 2014, the scholarship committee in conjunction with Hereford Rec Lacrosse and Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center, established the 1st Annual Taylor’s Tribe – Play It Forward lacrosse celebration.
