Hereford Lacrosse Publishes Bylaws and Policies
|
After a good deal of hard work, and a few spirited debates, the Hereford Lacrosse program agreed on a set of bylaws and policies, which are now posted on the web site. The bylaws describe the general structure of the program, board structure, meeting procedures, and the like. Additionally, each program (boys/girls) has developed a set of policies addressing playing time, evaluation procedures, registration, coach selection, and procedures to address grievances.
Consider these documents a work in progress. If you have comments, suggestions, or concerns, we welcome your input and participation. The strength of the Hereford Lacrosse Program is the entire community.

Rule Change Brings Hard Boundaries to Women's Lacrosse
|
From the US Lacrosse web site, posted 9/19/2005:
The US Lacrosse Women's Division Board of Governors voted on Saturday to implement the recommendation of the Rules Committee to bring hard boundaries to women's lacrosse beginning with the 2006 season.
However, at a Check Hers game this weekend, the rule was being applied. Players and spectators alike were quite surprised! With hard boundaries, when the ball goes out of bounds, it is not awarded to the closest player. If you throw the ball out of bounds, it's a turnover, and the other team is awarded the ball. Most spectators present seemed pleased with the rule change. The players may take some more convincing of the benefits of the rule to the game, though, as they quickly became aware of the consequences of a bad pass!
Please see US Lacrosse web site for complete article.
