Genesee Valley Fall Brawl A Big Success!

This years GV Fall Brawl Lacrosse Tournament proved to be another big success for the Hereford Lacrosse Community! The Hereford Recreation Lacrosse Program would like to recognize and thank Marilyn and Jim Darcangelo, and everyone at LaxWorld, for their leadership, hardwork and commitment in making this event an annual success. We'd also like to thank Tom Lamonica and the Lamonica family for use of Genesee Valley's fields and facilities and Chris Green for his many contributions in making sure the event ran smoothly! Genesee Valley Fall Brawl

Saturday, October 13th, 2007 Please join us for the annual Fall Brawl Lacrosse Tournament to be held Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Genesee Valley. This year will feature Men's Division III College teams from: Goucher, Denison, McDaniel, York, Wesley, Moravian, Neuman, Howard CC, Essex CC, Catonsville CC and Anne Arundel CC. Games start at 9 AM and run through 4 PM. Parking fee is $10. We are looking for company and individual sponsors to be recognized in the Tournament program including free parking at the event. Our program printer deadline is October 4. Please contact Marilyn Darcangelo (daddydarky@comcast.net) for all Company sponsorships and Chip Hilberg (chilbergjr@comcast.net) for all Individual sponsorships. Full Page - $350 1/2 Page - $200 1/4 Page - $125 Individual (listed by name) - $25 Please come out and support this event. This is one of Hereford Lacrosse Program's main fundraisers. All advertising and parking proceeds go to our program.

2007-08 Indoor Lacrosse Evaluations Schedule (Boys)

Boys evaluations will be held Sunday Sept 30th, at HMS Footbal Fields, from 12:00-6:00 PM.

• Noon - 1:30 PM: Junior
• 1:30 - 3:00 PM: Midget
• 3:00 - 4:30 PM: Lightning
• 4:30 - 6:00 PM: Tyker

Notes:
#1: this is not a home game day for Ravens.
#2: If football is rained out on Saturday, then evals get bumped to rain date (October 6th))

LAX Board Positions Open

Hereford Lacrosse is looking for volunteers to fill the following open Program Board positions. The program has expanded it's Board to help exisiting board members with their work load and provide an opportunity to bring new ideas to the program. It is critical that we fill these position for the upcoming indoor and outdoor seasons to continue our goal towards continuous improvement in providing the best youth lacrosse program for our community.

2007-08 Indoor Lacrosse Registration

Registration for fall/winter 2007-08 indoor lacrosse will begin on August 1. Click here to learn more.

Cost: $135 per child. A walk-in (late) registration will be held on Tuesday, Sep 11th, 6:30 - 8:30 at the High School Gym Lobby. To insure fair playing time for all participants, team size is limited. After the mail-in registration deadline of August 31st, team placement will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. A waiting list will be maintained, and new teams created if/when there are enough players. PLEASE SIGN UP ONLINE, OR MAIL IN YOUR REGISTRATION EARLY!

170 Players Attend HHS Clinic

On Sunday, March 25th at Genesee Valley, the Hereford High School varsity and JV players conducted clinics for our rec girls and boys, ages Tyker through Junior. 140 girls and 30 boys attened.

Ann Ensor and her high school team continued to put together an impressive morning. The proceeds (>$2,000) collected will go towards their High School program.

Brian King and the JV and Varisty boys players initiated the first boys clinic. Although the attendance was smaller, it was an great start. Observing the boys acitivities, it was not clear who was having more fun, Brian and the high school players or the kids. They collected $450 to go towards the Boys High School program.

Special thanks to Anne Ensor, Brian King and all the Hereford High players for sharing their time, talent and enthusiasm with our rec players, coaches and parents! Also, thanks go out to Tom Lamonica and the staff at Genesee Valley, Chip Hillberg, Brian Tenberg, Rick Stanley, and many others for their hard work to ensure another successful year for this annual clinic!

Coaching Clinic Draws 44 Coaches

On Saturday, February 24th the Hereford Lacrosse Program, in conjunction with US Lacrosse, hosted a Level I Coaches clinic at Calvert Hall High School. 44 Boys and Girls coaches attended the all-day clinic that featured classroom instruction followed by intensive, hands-on drills that focused on instructing coaches how to teach fundamental lacrosse skills and mechanics to developing lacrosse players.

Special thanks go out to Hereford Lacrosse's boys education coordinator Bud McManus for producing this event, to the US Lacrosse trainers headed up by Dennis Sullivan, coach Bryan Kelley, Lou Eckerl and Doug Hedrick of Calvert Hall, who assisted a great deal by providing us with a warm gym and classrooms for the clinic, and to Lindsay Riehl, Paul Gustin and Mark Pearce for their help setting up the clinic.

Girls Midget Coordinator Needed

The Girls Lacrosse Program is in search of a volunteer for the Midget Coordinator position. Please email your nominations to litsingerb@comcast.net. The Midget Coordinator will manage the affairs of the teams in this age group, including evaluations, team and coach selections and practice times. What's New at Hereford Lacrosse

Hereford Lacrosse is a well established program with over 1000 participants per year making it one of the fastest growing lacrosse recreation programs in the county. We are a member of the Positive Coaches Alliance - a national organization committed to making sports a positive experience for all players.

Here's what's new and exciting in the program for 2007!

• Girls and Boys Lax have added Education and Team Parent coordinators, further strengthening our commitment to educate our players and coaches, and foster successful parent, coach and player interactions. This spring we will hold coaches and player clinics designed to teach at all ages and skill levels. We are developing a coaches mentoring program to help educate and train new coaches. Look for more info coming soon! Now's the time to get involved and help foster a lifelong love of lacrosse for your children.

HHS Varsity Clinic Scheduled - Girls and Boys!

On Sunday, March 25th, 2007, from 9:00AM to 12:00, at Genesee Valley, the Hereford High School varsity players will conduct clinics for our rec girls and boys, ages Tyker through Junior.

Anne Ensor and the Hereford High School varsity girls, and Brian King and the Hereford High School boys will teach the latest techniques and drills.

Note: given the time constraints, it is extremely important that everyone arrives 30 minutes prior to their start time!! Be on the field and ready to go, not walking in the door at your start time!!

Registration For 2007 Outdoor Lacrosse 12/1/2006 - 12/31/2006

Update 01/13/2006; Spirit is still accepting registrations. Please fill out the forms and send in the check ($60) and forms to registrar. All other levels, please email resistrar (boysregistration@herefordlacrosse.org, girlsregistration@herefordlacrosse.org) with playing level (eg Tyker, Lightning, etc) to determine if there is a wait list before filling out the forms.

Mail in registration for the 2007 outdoor lacrosse season is underway. Existing players should have received an email with links to online registration. Mail in registration forms are also available. A walk-in (late) registration will be held Saturday, Jan 6, 9:00 AM - 12 Noon at Hereford High Auditorium Lobby, and Monday, Jan 8, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at Hereford High Cafeteria.
